Dr. Chalunkal is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. His educational background includes a PM&R residency at Columbia University and an anesthesia pain fellowship with Interventional Spine training at the University of Michigan. His experience spans from cancer rehabilitation at Memorial Sloan Kettering to the treatment of sports-related spine disorders at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

He is committed to delivering the highest caliber of evidence-based clinical care to his patients. He has a passion for interventional spine medicine, cancer rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal spine rehabilitation. He treats spine and peripheral joint related dysfunction using multimodal treatment regimens that include therapeutic exercise and minimally invasive image-guided injections.

Dr. Chalunkal —co-author of articles published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Journal including a chapter on management of musculoskeletal disorders in Therapeutic Programs for Musculoskeletal Disorders—has presented on a range of physical medicine and rehabilitation topics at national medical meetings including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatry. 

Dr. Chalunkal is currently welcoming new patients and accepts most insurance plans. He is on the medical staff at Methodist McKinney Hopsital and Methodist Craig Ranch Surgery Center.
